Vicor Music Corporation is one of the pioneers of the local recording industry having been established in 1965 and put up initially by friends who wanted to record and promote their own music. The venture was successful and just last October 15, the company celebrated its 38th anniversary. Today, Vicor is a group of companies owning and operating the country's largest recording complex, an extensive distribution network spread throughout the country and an aggressive sales team composed of over 100 people to compliment it, a home video distribution network for Warner Home Video, as well as having the largest number of locally published songs. Our company serves a total of over 100 record and video stores. We are entertainment.
The Philippines' local record industry right now is growing thanks to our government's efforts to curb piracy in the region. Thus so, we are planning to foray once more into the licensing, promotion and distribution of international labels and music. Vicor has had extensive experience in this area since we used to be the exclusive licensee for RCA before BMG set-up their own local unit over here. Our subsidiaries have also handled licensing and distribution before. Ivory Records was the licensee for GRP and Blackgold for CBS. The two likewise have set-up their own local distribution units over here through Universal and Sony respectively.
